The Sheyenne River flows from its source in north-central North Dakota at Devils Lake, to its mouth a few miles north of Fargo, North Dakota where it empties into the Red River and continues the long journey into Hudson Bay. It has carved a beautiful valley into the drift prairie, perhaps one of the most scenic pastorals in the north-central United States. The bridges across the river are spread out, and occassionally the road requires a twist or two to accomodate the twisting river. The serenity here is palpable, with traffic that only requires the center of the road to be used.
